For today’s class we had to decide whether we wanted to continue working on our plays, pick a new play, or write our own play for our final project. I really like Variations, and my group does too, so we’ve decided to stick with that one. I think the challenging part of working with this show is going to be figuring out how much we want to stick to the “reality” of the show – do we want to include elements that are more expressionistic that would add to the humor of the piece or should we keep the humor down in order to get the overall message of the play across? I’m always one for adding funny pieces to shows but I guess I’ll see how our group feels about it as we continue to work on bringing the show to life.
